Karen Fenton Memorial Run 2018
The inaugural Karen Fenton Memorial Run was hosted in Ballinora, Waterfall on April 15th, 2018, just two weeks short of Karen’s first anniversary. The event was a huge success, attracting over 700 participants on a very wet day, and succeeded in raising awareness and much needed funds for Ovarian Cancer. There was a huge community involvement on the day, bringing people together in a way that Karen would have been extremely proud of.
The Karen Fenton Memorial Cup and the Máire Comerford Memorial Cup were presented to the first male and female winners. Máire was another Ballinora native, who sadly passed away, aged 39, 8 months after Karen, also from Ovarian Cancer.
